Six different Rochester players scored goals Wednesday night in the Americans’ 6-3 victory over the Syracuse Crunch Wednesday night at Blue Cross Arena. Three of the Rochester goals came on the power play.
It was the first victory of the American Hockey League season for the Amerks after they were swept in two games at home last weekend by the Charlotte Checkers. Syracuse suffered its first loss after an opening win.
Danny O’Regan, C.J. Smith, Kyle Criscuolo, Zach Redmond, Lawrence Pilut and Victor Olofsson scored for Rochester. It was the second goal of the season for Pilut, a rookie defenseman from Sweden. Olofsson, a rookie winger from Sweden, scored his first in the AHL.
Adam Wilcox made 30 saves for the Amerks. Eddie Pasquale had 27 stops for Syracuse.
Rochester goes on the road for a weekend series against the Sound Tigers in Bridgeport, Conn., on Saturday afternoon and Sunday night before a game next Wednesday at the Utica Comets.
