Woman pulled over for speeding, jailed for possession of drugs and scales

A driver pulled over for speeding in Chautauqua County and her passenger were arrested and jailed on drug possession and drug paraphernalia charges Friday afternoon.

Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies stopped ShyAnne S. Johnson, 24, of Irving, for speeding on Chemar Drive in the Town of Hanover around 4:12 p.m Friday. Deputies subsequently found her and her passenger, an unnamed 18-year-old passenger from Salamanca, to be possession of 18 ounces of marijuana, 21.7 grams of concentrated cannabis, a package of Suboxone and multiple scales, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Both women were arraigned in Hanover Town Court and sent to jail without bail on multiple counts of drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
