Niagara Falls teen steals Chevy, is immediately arrested

A suspect in a car theft was nabbed early Friday moments after the vehicle was reported stolen, Niagara Falls Police reported.

Officers investigating an unrelated complaint spotted the stolen vehicle pulling into a 19th Street gas station. The driver was arrested following a short chase after he lost control and struck a curb.

A Linwood Avenue resident contacted police at 3 a.m. after her father's 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe was stolen from behind her home. She said she had left it unlocked with the keys inside and her boyfriend saw a man climb into it and drive off.

Aaron E. Williams, 18, of LaSalle Avenue, was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, unlicensed operation and several traffic violations.
