Wendel buys Atlanta firm to boost its geographic reach

Wendel, the Buffalo-based design, construction and engineering firm, has acquired a specialized firm in Atlanta to boost its expertise and geographic reach.

The company did not say how much it paid to acquire the Architecture Group, which focuses on institutional architecture in Atlanta and the southeastern United States for clients such as the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority and the University System of Georgia.

The deal adds to Wendel's offerings with more expertise in transportation, education and infrastructure, while increasing its presence and ability to serve more customers in new projects in the rapidly expanding metropolitan Atlanta region, the companies said.
