The City of Niagara Falls is seeking proposals from prospective operators for an outdoor ice skating rink the city wants to install this winter in a city parking lot at First Street and Rainbow Boulevard.
Community Development Director Seth Piccirillo released the request for proposals Wednesday. The city wants to offer outdoor ice from November through March. A series of special winter events is planned for the weekends of Nov. 30, Dec. 14 and Dec. 21.
The rink would measure 77 feet by 180 feet and be surrounded by a railing, not hockey boards. Proposals from operators who are able to install and take down the equipment on their own will be favored, according to the document. The deadline for bids is Oct. 10.
