Georgiann D. Delmont, of Amherst, co-owner with her husband of Fanny’s Restaurant in Amherst, died unexpectedly Monday in Mercy Hospital. She was 67.
Born in Buffalo, the former Georgiann Nebral was a 1968 graduate of Riverside High School. She took bookkeeping classes at Erie Community College and worked as a legal secretary for the Buffalo firm of Siegel, McGee and Dwann.
She was married a week after her 20th birthday in 1970 to Michael J. Delmont, a chef, whom she had dated since they were high school students.
In 1975, the Delmonts opened Fanny’s, a popular upscale supper club and banquet facility on Sheridan Drive, and operated it until 2010. She oversaw the bookkeeping and all of the office operations.
Since 2012, she had been head of billing and bookkeeping for TPW Websites LLC in the City of Tonawanda, which provides worksheets and computer-related services for teachers.
Known to everyone as Georgie, she was devoted to her family and was a talented cook, revered for her homemade ravioli at Christmas and her Thanksgiving turkey stuffing.
An avid golfer, she enjoyed golf vacations on Hilton Head Island, S.C., and was a former member of Brierwood Country Club. She also was a fan of the New York Yankees and All-Star shortstop Derek Jeter.
In addition to her husband, survivors include three daughters, Jennifer, Ashley Newman and Lindsay Gallson; three sisters, Laura Zeller, Cosi Rofot and Darlene Nicosia; and six grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, in Christ the King Catholic Church, 30 Lamarck Drive, Snyder.
