Wanakah to host State Mid-Amateur Golf

Jamie Miller of the host club who won the tournament in 2014, will be among the golfers entered in the 35th New York State Mid-Amateur Championship Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Wanakah Country Club in Hamburg. Miller is a three-time Wanakah club champion. Patrick Keegan of Rochester is the defending champion.
A field of 69 will compete in the 54-h0ole stroke play event for the Bob Hogan Memorial Trophy. More than 300 of the state's top amateur golfers 25 and older attempted to qualify in 10 sectional qualifiers throughout the state.
Wanakah this year completed a course renovation. It's the first time since 1999 that Wanakah has hosted a state major tournament.

Rosen, Drogonsky win Transit Valley Stroke Play

Bob Rosen of the Country Club of Buffalo shot low gross with a 76 and Chris Drongosky of Glen Oak shot low net with a 70 Tuesday to win the Transit Valley Stroke Play Championship.

The tournament was highlighted by a hole-in-one on No. 12 by Tim DiGuilio of the host club in his round of 77.ofl,
