For the second time in two nights, gunshots were fired into a home in the 1300 block of Elmwood Avenue in Niagara Falls late Saturday, police said.
No one was injured in the incident, which was a carbon copy of an incident Friday night in the same block.
Around 10:45 p.m. Saturday, a 29-year-old woman was forced to duck for cover when two or three gunshots rang out, with two bullets piercing the front window of her home.
Investigators believe the woman was targeted in a case of mistaken identity related to other recent violent incidents.
Police interviewed a woman who lives close to the scene of Saturday's shooting who believes the gunman may have actually been after her. She said that she had been the victim of a "gang assault" on Sept. 15.
