Johnson - Robert J. "Red"
Age 86, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed into eternity on Saturday, September 22, 2018. Born on November 23, 1931 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Martin and Anna (Bartko) Johnson. On September 19, 1964, Robert married the former Joanne Boyd in Prince of Peace Church. She predeceased him on May 10, 2013. Mr. Johnson proudly served in the United States Army and retired from the Niagara Falls Fire Department in 1986 as Captain. Mr. Johnson is survived by six daughters, Linda (David) D'Angelo, Cheryl (Gerard) Kline, Diane Fegatilli, Darlene Fegatilli, Barbara (James) Dotts and Mary Elizabeth (David) Ungaro, and was predeceased by an infant son, Robert Joseph Johnson, Jr.; Robert is also survived by nine grandchildren, Mark (Stefanie) and Nicholas D'Angelo, Kevin, James and Thomas Kline, Matthew Dotts and Jessica, Joshua and Anna Ungaro; three great-grandchildren, Lauren and Maya D'Angelo and Alexander Dehn-Kline; siblings, Josephine (late Len) Campbell and Martin (Joan) Johnson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, wife and infant son, he was predeceased by sisters, Gladys (late Don) Sweeney and Carol Sue Adam and a brother, John Johnson. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3-8 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, where Funeral Services will begin on Wednesday, September 26th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., which will be celebrated in St. John de LaSalle Church, 8477 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Slavomir Siok, SAC serving as celebrant. Entombment, concluding with Military Honors, will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Garden of Peace. Flowers are gratefully declined.
