Shot pierces Niagara Falls home, no one injured

NIAGARA FALLS – Police believe that two men on bicycles may have been responsible for firing three gunshots on Elmwood Avenue, near 13th Street, Friday night. One shot went through the second floor of an occupied home, but no one was injured.

Just before 10 p.m., several neighbors reported hearing three gunshots in the area. At least two people reported seeing a pair of men riding bicycles in the vicinity just before the shots were heard.

One home had a bullet go through its second-floor walls, police said, and a spent .22-caliber shell casing was found in the middle of the road in front of the residence. A couple was home with a dog at the time, but reported that no one was in the second-floor area.

The cyclists were last seen fleeing west on Elmwood, police said.
