Buffalo linebacker Lorenzo Alexander said he had never seen anything like it and called it “disrespectful” when Vontae Davis retired on his terms at halftime.
Alexander would love nothing more than to sweep all the off-field issues of the players under the rug and keep the media’s attention away from all the serious legal troubles NFL players often run into like murder, rape, DUIs, domestic violence, drug abuse, burglary, guns/weapons, counterfeiting, wire fraud, money laundering, drug trafficking, food stamp fraud, robbery, animal abuse and whatever else they do.
I was more outraged that a Los Angeles Charger stood apart from his teammates and extended his fist in the air during the anthem than Davis’ actions. Bills management and players are “disrespectful” to their fans for putting such a shameful product on the field then charging an astronomical amount of money for tickets, parking, concessions and souvenirs. Stadium security appear to be afraid to confront unruly fans who are highly intoxicated, instigating a fistfight, swearing or acting subhuman inside and outside the stadium.
I get far more enjoyment and excitement watching high school football, their cheerleaders, drill teams, bands and mascots. Davis would agree with me.
