Jury reaches partial verdict in Lockport rape trial; judge doesn't want to hear it

After three days of deliberations, a State Supreme Court jury in Lockport has reached a verdict on 11 of 21 counts against Jordan R. Patterson, 23, a Lockport man accused of raping four teenage girls in Lockport in 2015 and 2016.

However, Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. decided against hearing the partial verdict Friday and instructed the jury to keep working. Two hours later, two jurors sent Kloch notes deploring the "bullying" and "inappropriate" conduct of their fellow jurors.

Kloch warned the jurors to remain civil before telling them to come back for a fourth day of deliberations Monday.

Patterson, 23, originally was charged with raping five girls, but one of them was reluctant to testify, and charges connected with her were dismissed during the trial, which began Sept. 4.
