The City of Lockport is seeking proposals from would-be buyers for two large vacant houses just south of the city's downtown business district: 271 and 281 Genesee St. The former was last used as a four-unit apartment house; the latter was a duplex.
The deadline to make an offer is Oct. 24. The city will hold open houses at the sites Wednesday and Oct. 2.
"This is the next step in removing the blight of these properties from the neighborhood and our community," Mayor David R. Wohleben said. "We are excited to see what responses we receive and will make our recommendation to the Council based on what is best for the community."
The requests for proposals are available on the city website.
