Children's mental health clinic opens in Niagara Falls

New Directions Youth and Family Services cut the ribbon Thursday on its new children's mental health clinic in the Power City Building at Old Falls and Third streets in Niagara Falls.

The Children’s Clinic of Western New York "will provide outpatient mental health counseling and psychiatry services for children and adolescents ages 5-21 and families living in Erie or Niagara counties," spokesman Brendan Hoare said.

Hoare said the clinic's services "are designed to assist children experiencing abuse, anxiety, depression, domestic violence, family changes, school difficulties and trauma."

New Directions is a nonprofit agency that operates several facilities for at-risk youth in the region, including Wyndham Lawn Home for Children in Lockport and facilities in Salamanca, Randolph, Westons Mills and Falconer.
