Jericho Road Community Health Center celebrated the opening of its third medical facility in Buffalo Thursday morning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The medical center is in a five-story building at 1021 Broadway near the Broadway Market. It has been open since July 9 and has seen more than 620 patients, Jericho Road officials said.
Dr. Jewell Henley is the medical director at the Broadway site. She is joined by Dr. Jayla Wiesner, a women's health and maternity care specialist. A full-time physician assistant and a Burmese medical provider also are slated to join the staff.
The building wants to serve as a "community health hub" and will eventually also house a patient pharmacy, community fitness center and dental clinic. In addition agencies including Mental Health Advocates of WNY and EPIC also plan to have offices in the building.
