LeSean McCoy's ex-girlfriend offers reward to find attacker, blasts McCoy

Another day, another development in the drama surrounding LeSean McCoy.

Through her lawyer, the ex-girlfriend of the Buffalo Bills' star running back, Delicia Cordon, announced Thursday that a $20,000 reward is being offered for helping police apprehend the person who allegedly attacked her during a July 10 invasion at a home McCoy owns in Georgia.

Cordon, who reiterated her belief McCoy is somehow involved in the incident, will hold a Friday news conference, lawyer Tanya Mitchell Graham said.

Police in Milton, Ga., have not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests.

"Ms. Cordon strongly believes that Mr. McCoy was involved in this crime, and she has never wavered on that belief. The violent nature of Mr. McCoy is well-documented, and he believes he can continue his abhorrent behavior with impunity," a news release issued by Graham's office said. "Mr. McCoy claims that he was not involved in the home invasion and attack that occurred in a home that he owns, but he has vehemently refused to participate in the investigation or cooperate with the authorities. His actions before and subsequent to the home invasion do not reflect the actions of an individual who was not involved."

Graham has previously said Cordon described the robber as a short black man wearing a mask and all-black clothing. He demanded cash and specific items of jewelry that McCoy gave Cordon as birthday presents, the lawyer said. Then the intruder hit her in the face with a handgun several times, she said. Cordon has said two Cartier bracelets were taken.

On Tuesday, the mother of McCoy's 6-year-old son filed an affidavit in Fulton County (Georgia) court, sided with Cordon in her lawsuit against the running back. In the court filing, Stephanie Maisonet claimed her son would often come home after a visit with McCoy with bruises, which she said she would "consistently receive outlandish excuses" for. Maisonet and McCoy are locked in a custody battle over their son.

McCoy's lawyers have sought to dismiss the lawsuit. In a response to McCoy's motion to dismiss, Cordon's lawyers filed new photos that show the damage allegedly done to Cordon's face during the home invasion.

McCoy has denied any wrongdoing, both in the alleged attack on Cordon and with his son.

"These people obviously have so much to gain by doing this," he said Wednesday in his most extensive comments on the matter. "I'm not going to sit here and spend too much time even talking about it. It's crazy. It's ridiculous. Everything I do is for my little man, my son. If I didn't care, I wouldn't be fighting for custody of my boy."

McCoy is accused of abusing his son, as well as his dog, in the news release from Cordon's attorneys, the full text of which is below.

In the court documents, McCoy's first name is misspelled as "LaShawn."

Ms. Delicia Cordon is the victim of a home invasion, armed robbery and brutal assault and battery that occurred on the morning of July 10, 2018, at approximately 3:00 a.m., at the residence that she formerly shared with Mr. LeShawn (sic) McCoy in the city of Milton, Georgia. After over two (2) months, Mr. McCoy has refused to participate in the investigation or cooperate with the authorities.

Ms. Cordon is becoming increasingly frustrated that the assailant who broke into her home, savagely beat her in the face with a handgun, hit her cousin in the back of the head with a handgun, and stole her valuables has not yet been apprehended. A heinously violent assailant remains at-large, and it is imperative that authorities be immediately informed of any new pertinent information regarding this matter.

Ms. Cordon strongly believes that Mr. McCoy was involved in this crime, and she has never wavered on that belief. The violent nature of Mr. McCoy is well-documented, and he believes he can continue his abhorrent behavior with impunity. Ms. Cordon has witnessed Mr. McCoy physically abuse his son from another relationship, as well as his dog. Ms. Cordon is further aware of Mr. McCoy’s penchant for demanding the return of expensive jewelry and gifts from multiple women at the end of a relationship. Mr. McCoy has a history of attempting to resale the gifts he had previously given to a girlfriend, to friends or teammates. There is no doubt in Ms. Cordon’s mind that Mr. McCoy had some involvement with the attack.

Mr. McCoy claims that he was not involved in the home invasion and attack that occurred in a home that he owns, but he has vehemently refused to participate in the investigation or cooperate with the authorities. His actions before and subsequent to the home invasion do not reflect the actions of an individual who was not involved.

A violent assailant remains at large and it is imperative that anyone with knowledge of the home invasion and attack of Ms. Cordon that occurred on July 10, 2018, come forward and provide any information to help apprehend the violent perpetrator who committed these crimes. As such, Ms. Cordon would like to offer a reward of TWENTY THOUSAND and NO/100 DOLLARS ($20,000.00) for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who entered into her former residence, beat her in her face with a handgun, hit her cousin in the back of the head with a handgun, and stole her jewelry. Ms. Cordon’s life is forever affected by this incident, and the assailant who committed the home invasion, armed robbery, and aggravated battery, along with all individuals involved, must be brought to justice.
