Hamburger cook-off to raise funds for Hamburg water tower

This year's Flavor of Hamburg Saturday will feature food and live music as well the first great hamburger cook-off.

Specialty hamburgers made by Butera’s, Craft & Cork, Juicy, Coyote Cafe, Masons and Masters BBQ will be judged by Mike Andrzejewski, who beat Bobby Flay on the Food Network show, "Beat Bobby Flay." Judging will take place at 3 p.m. under the Palace Theater marquee, and the public will have chance to vote, too.

The cook-off is sponsored by the Hamburg Water Tower board, which is raising money to paint the town water tower like a hamburger. Voting will continue at the event on the four proposals for painting the water tower.

Flavor of Hamburg runs from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday in the municipal parking lot and along Main and Buffalo streets.
