Apparently, Jordan Matthews' one season with the Buffalo Bills last year wasn't a total waste of time.
Although injuries repeatedly kept him off the field from his first practice and rendered him mostly unproductive in the Bills' offense, Matthews did manage to do some producing of his own.
After re-signing with the Philadelphia Eagles Wednesday, Matthews cited his season with the Bills as the reason he is a father.
"There wasn't anything to do there but each other," he told Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News. Matthews is married to professional soccer player Cheyna Williams.
Matthews, who joined the Bills Aug. 11, 2017, as part of a deal that also sent cornerback Ronald Darby to Philadelphia in exchange for a third-round pick, played in 10 games last season with seven starts. He caught a career-low 25 passes for 282 yards and a touchdown. He was placed on injured reserve on Dec. 5 with a knee injury.
