Man who crashed into guardrail on Twin Cities Memorial Highway charged

A North Tonawanda man who crashed into a guardrail while driving on the Twin Cities Memorial Highway early Monday was charged with driving while intoxicated, according to City of Tonawanda Police.

Milton M. Rowe, 35, was northbound at about 4:45 a.m., driving on the shoulder of the Twin Cities Memorial Highway, when his SUV left the road and crashed into the guardrail near the Ellicott Creek on-ramp.

Police said Rowe told them that he had fallen asleep.

Rowe, who recorded a breath alcohol content reading of .09, was not injured in the accident, though his vehicle and the guardrail it struck were extensively damaged, police said.
