Horn-honking leads to DWI arrest for Amherst woman

An Amherst woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated and several other charges early Saturday morning after her persistent horn-honking drew the attention of Buffalo police, officers said.

At approximately 3:45 a.m. Saturday morning, Syndronica Redd, 30, was continuously honking her car horn near the intersection of Allen and College streets, police said.

Buffalo Police officers asked Redd to stop, and once officers suspected she was intoxicated, she was asked to step out of the vehicle. Police said Redd then attempted to drive off and run over a police officer with her car, then continued to flee west on Allen Street, driving over a sidewalk and hitting a parked car.

Redd was charged with aggravated DWI, reckless driving, second-degree attempted assault, obstruction of governmental administration and multiple traffic violations.
