A political science student at Daemen College who served as an intern for Rep. Brian Higgins this summer has died.
Megan Racinowski, 19, a junior in Daemen's history and political science department, died Sunday morning, college President Gary A. Olson announced in a statement Monday.
He said her family has been notified, but did not indicate the circumstances of Racinowski's death.
Olson noted grief counseling and support services will be available for those affected by her death.
According to her LinkedIn page, Ms. Racinowski also was an intern at the Sierra Club this summer and spent the spring 2018 semester in Washington, D.C., as an intern for Sen. Tom Carper, a Delaware Democrat.
