A new center that treats patients with chronic and acute kidney disease with at-home and in-center dialysis machines has opened its sixth center in the region, this time in the Town of Tonawanda.
U.S. Renal Care cut the ribbon Thursday on its new center at 2880 Sheridan Drive. It joins a pair of other centers each in Tonawanda and Cheektowaga, as well as one in Williamsville.
The company, founded in 2000, serves more than 23,000 patients in 300 dialysis facilities in 31 states. It partners with local physicians, nephrologists, hospitals and advocacy groups as it goes about its work.
“The need for these services has grown as the population ages,” Sam Menshel, senior facility administrator with U.S. Renal Care, said in a news release. He said the new center offers heated seats with massage, individual TVs and free Wi-Fi.
