ECC football routs Utica JV, 71-13

Erie Community College scored 36 points in the second quarter and went on to a 71-13 rout of the Utica College junior Varsity team on Sunday in Utica.

Seven Turpin (Cheektowaga) a sophomore ran for three touchdowns in the Kats’ big quarter after he opened the game with a 69-yard touchdown pass reception from Jack Edwards. Turpin carried 13 times for 71 yards and caught five passes for 91. Eriono Gardina (Kenmore West) returned a kickoff 93 yards in the third quarter for ECC. Edwards (11 fof 16, 152 yards) passed for two touchdowns as did Cody Workman, who completed all five of his throws for 69 yards.

ECC, now 3-0, will be home to Lackawanna (Pa.) College at noon on Saturday at West Herr Stadium in Orchard Park for its next game.
