Lockport man pleads guilty to conspiracy to possess, sell heroin

A Lockport man who bought and sold heroin pleaded guilty Friday to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Trent Hamilton, 36, faces a mandatory minimum penalty of five years in prison and a maximum of 40 years imprisonment.

According to prosecutors, Hamilton conspired with others to distribute heroin in the Lockport and Niagara Falls areas.

The U.S. Attorney's Office said Hamilton was intercepted on phone calls discussing in vague language drug transactions he had contemplated and which he conducted.

Prosecutors said Hamilton stored drugs in a vacant apartment above a High Street residence in Lockport, which he maintained for the purpose of storing, packaging and distributing drugs.
