Regular customers of the Bob Evans family restaurant on Transit Road were surprised Tuesday to find the restaurant closed before dinnertime.
There will be no reopening, and the corporation plans to sell the restaurant at 6635 Transit Road, Lancaster, according to an employee who answered the phone.
When it opened on April 1, 1991, it was the first outlet of the sausage company's restaurant division to open in New York State.
The Ohio-based company has more than 500 restaurants, including locations in Batavia, Niagara Falls, Dunkirk and Amherst.
