With Blues' signing of Schmaltz, Reinhart one of seven unsigned RFAs left

The St. Louis Blues signed restricted free agent Jordan Schmaltz to a two-year, $1.4-million contract Wednesday on the eve of the opening of their training camp, cutting the number of unsigned RFAs in the NHL to seven with most teams scheduled to report to work on Thursday.

Sabres winger Sam Reinhart, of course, remains on that list and it's uncertain if he'll report without a deal. Reinhart has participated in several of the pre-camp informal workouts with his teammates at HarborCenter but was not on hand when two groups of players skated Wednesday, starting in the late morning and continuing through the afternoon. It should be noted that not all the Sabres scheduled to be at camp took the ice for one of the sessions.

The Sabres are scheduled to report to KeyBank Center for physicals and testing on Thursday morning, a session that is closed to the public. Camp begins Friday morning at 9:45 at HarborCenter, with all practices open to fans.
