Driver crashes into building on Walden, bringing down cable lines

A driver who suffered an apparent medical issue was taken to the hospital Wednesday morning after crashing into a building on Walden Avenue in Cheektowaga, police said.

Several cars were damaged and cable lines were down across Walden, causing the road to be closed for about 15 minutes, Assistant Cheektowaga Police Chief James Speyer said in an email.

At about 9 a.m., the driver crashed into the school bus transportation company, First Student, at 2306 Walden. The driver, whose name was not released by police, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Erie County Medical Center, Speyer said.
