Buffalo native Steven Means, a defensive end who won a Super Bowl ring with the Philadelphia Eagles last season, has signed with the Atlanta Falcons, the team announced.
Means, a Grover Cleveland product who went to the University at Buffalo, appeared in 14 games in two seasons with the Eagles before being released in final cuts. A 2013 fifth-round draft pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Means also has spent time with Baltimore. He has 12 tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble in his career.
The Falcons placed safety Keanu Neal on injured reserve with a knee injury suffered in last Thursday's opener.
Means visited with the Falcons on Saturday.
