A new bridge carrying Bethany Center Road over Route 20 in Genesee County is now open to two-way traffic, the state Department of Transportation announced Friday.
While the bridge in the Town of Bethany is open to traffic, an active work zone will remain in place for several weeks. Construction crews will resume work on the bridge after Labor Day.
The transportation department is reminding motorists that fines will doubled for motorists caught speeding in a work zone. Anyone convicted of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could face the suspension of their driver’s license.
