The Niagara County Board of Elections announced Friday that it will be open extra hours to accommodate absentee voting for the Sept. 13 primary election.
The board office at 111 Main St., Lockport, normally is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. It will stay open until 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6 and Tuesday, Sept. 11, and also from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 8, for voters who want to apply for absentee ballots.
The ballots may be filled out on the spot or taken home and mailed back. If the ballots are mailed, they must be postmarked by Sept. 12 to be valid.
