A Buffalo man pleaded guilty Friday to conspiring to possess and distribute between five and 15 kilograms of cocaine, according to federal prosecutors.
Brandon Washington, 35, faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 10 years in prison and a maximum of life imprisonment when he is sentenced.
Prosecutors said that between June 2011 and November 2014, Washington obtained several kilograms of cocaine from California and he distributed the drugs to others in the Buffalo area. During the same time frame, prosecutors said, Washington structured cash deposits, in amounts under $10,000, in an effort to hide the proceeds of his illegal drug sales and avoid bank reporting requirements.
The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
