David W. Polak, a Buffalo lawyer known for his work on personal injury cases, is facing federal gun charges.
Polak, who was in Buffalo federal court last week, is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, and prosecutors say his crime occurred while he was under a court order in another matter.
The attorney, according to the complaint, visited The Gun Locker in Tonawanda in January and, while attempting to buy two guns, lied on a federal transaction form about a court order against him.
Prosecutors also claim Polak was in possession of a Glock .40 caliber pistol while under the order.
"Mr. Polak has entered a plea of not guilty to all charges," said defense attorney Terrence M. Connors. "We are in the process of reviewing the documents recently provided by the government."
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Emmanuel O. Ulubiyo.
