A Lackawanna man was arrested Wednesday after he was caught with cocaine while attempting to enter the Edward A. Rath County Office Building, according to the Erie County Sheriff's Office.
Jermaine Giddens, 22, was charged with felony counts of criminal possession of a narcotic with intent to sell and criminal possession of a stimulant. Giddens also was charged with obstruction of governmental administration, the Sheriff's Office said.
According to deputies, Giddens entered the Rath Building at about 3 p.m.. While passing through the metal detector, the machine detected the presence of metal. While searching Giddens, deputies seized cocaine in his possession.
Deputies said Giddens was apprehended after a brief chase and held in the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment.
