The Labor Day weekend marks a homecoming for jazz musician Tim Donahue, a native of Niagara Falls.
Donahue, who now lives and performs in Japan, will make two local appearances within the next few days.
Donahue, who plays an electric harp guitar, will perform at 8 p.m. Friday at the PAUSA Art House, 19 Wadsworth St. He will also perform at 7 p.m. Monday at the Sportsmen’s Tavern, 326 Amherst St.
Donahue is an alumnus of Boston’s Berklee College of Music, and also a recording artist for EMI-Japan. He has relatives living in Youngstown. In 1982 he began building fretless and fretted harp guitars of his own design. He now produces Tim Donahue Signature Harp Guitar, which is billed as the world’s first mass-produced electric harp guitar.
