[BN] Blitz newsletter: Would you take the over on Josh Allen's number of starts?

How many games do you think Bills rookie quarterback Josh Allen will start in 2018?

It's a question Bills fans have debated since late April when the team made Allen the seventh overall pick in the draft.

Online betting site Bovada on Wednesday released player prop bets for the season. It put the over/under for Allen's regular-season starts at 13.5.

My thought: That number feels high. Allen would have to start 14 of the Bills' 16 games to win on the over. It's certainly within the realm of possibility, but given the uncertainty regarding the Week 1 starter, the likelihood that a rookie quarterback may struggle and the odds of suffering an injury in the NFL, I'd consider taking the under on this prop.

McDermott fed up with Bills' penalty problem: Referees have thrown 36 penalty flags against the Bills in three preseason games, including 10 false starts. “It’s unacceptable,” McDermott said.

Dalton thanks Bills fans: Bengals QB Andy Dalton gave one more thank-you to Bills fans in a lengthy Instagram post Wednesday. "A touchdown that won us a football game ended up raising over $450,000 with over 18,000 donors from a fan base that isn’t even ours," he wrote. "JJ (Dalton's wife) and I knew something big was happening last year but we didn’t know what it was. We felt God moving in our lives but didn’t know what He was doing until after that game. God is good!" He closed the message with a reference to the Bible verse Ephesians 2:10.

"Bachelorette" producer, a big Bills fan, critiques "Embedded": Bennett Graebner, who helps run the ABC shows “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette,” gave Buffalo News Gusto his thoughts on the Bills-produced "Embedded" series that gives some behind-the-scenes looks at training camp.

Vikings' Cayleb Jones, Zay Jones' brother, arrested for alleged domestic assault, theft: Not a great offseason for the Jones brothers.
