'Sustainable Earth' is theme of Fall Fest at Reinstein Woods

Scavenger hunts, exhibits, live animals and music will be featured from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 15 during the 18th annual Fall Festival at Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve in Cheektowaga.

"Sustainable Earth" is the theme of this year's festival, according to Reinstein Woods Center Director Meaghan Boice-Green.

"This festival is a fun way to explore everything from recycling to water conservation to creating a wildlife-friendly yard," said Boice-Green.

Those who attend the festival are encouraged to bring with them an old T-shirt to convert into a reusable shopping bag. Visitors also are encouraged to bring household alkaline batteries for recycling.

Reinstein Woods is located at 93 Honorine Drive, off of Como Park Boulevard. A donation to Friends of Reinstein Woods will be requested at the door to help support the festival.
