Holland Middle School, which was closed in June, 2012, to the dismay of some residents, is reopening this year.
The school at Partridge Road and Route 16 will house fifth- through eighth-grade students, as well as Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus-BOCES special education classes. The school, which was closed in a reconfiguration of the district when it went from three to two buildings, has been updated with new furniture and technology.
An open house will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 5:30 p.m.
The H.O. Brumsted Elementary School, will continue to house universal prekindergarten through fourth grades. Fifth and sixth grades had been at the elementary school, and seventh and eighth grades had been at the high school building.
