Bengals' Andy Dalton pens thank you message to Bills fans

After a few days in Buffalo for a preseason game and a presentation at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton took to Instagram to again thank Buffalo Bills fans and the community for its generosity.

On Sunday, Dalton stopped by Roswell Park to join his wife, JJ, and representatives of the Andy and Jordan Dalton Foundation in making a donation. He then was cheered at New Era Field when he was introduced before the game against the Bills. He threw a 57-yard touchdown pass on the first play from scrimmage.

You know the background: Dalton's winning touchdown pass last December into the arms of wide receiver Tyler Boyd catapulted the Bills into the playoffs after a 17-year drought. The throw came with 48 seconds left on the clock in the Bengals' season finale.

Bills fans responded by sending over $450,000 to the Dalton Foundation that was set up by the couple in 2011, shortly after Andy was drafted, to help seriously ill and physically challenged children.

Here is the text of Dalton's thank-you message:

There is so much to be thankful for with all the support and love we have received from Buffalo. @jjdalton5 and I never thought we would be giving to the city of Buffalo but the generosity from so many people made it happen. A touchdown that won us a football game ended up raising over $450,000 with over 18,000 donors from a fan base that isn’t even ours. JJ and I knew something big was happening last year but we didn’t know what it was. We felt God moving in our lives but didn’t know what He was doing until after that game. God is good! I want to thank JJ for all that she does for our family and our foundation. She takes on so much and it wouldn’t be what it is without her passion, hard work, and love for serving and helping those in need. Next, @prolanthropy thank you for taking our passion and ideas and making it happen. Y’all are amazing. I want to thank all of our board members and their spouses. Your thoughts, ideas, help and time have allowed us to grow over the 7 years! Thanks @aaronfarrier for capturing all the special moments we have with the foundation. I also want to thank @roswellpark for opening your hospital to the Hub and allowing us to donate to the Angel Fund and to the city of Buffalo. We pray this will bless the children and their families. Finally I want to thank all the Bills fans everywhere across the world that made donations. Your generosity is going to impact so many children and families. Thank you for making a difference in helping those in need. Thank you! Ephesians 2:10
