2 of 3 open seats on Clarence IDA board are filled

The Clarence Town Board has named two businessmen to fill vacancies on the Clarence Industrial Development Agency board of directors in recent months.

The Town Board appointed Patrick L. Johnson in March and Robert Dixon in June to the board.

Johnson is a Navy veteran who has worked for nearly four decades in the defense industry, first with DRS Technologies and now as president of his own consulting firm.

Dixon worked for years in the telecommunications industry, most recently for Verizon, before taking a high-ranking sales job with Materion Corp. He is the brother of Erie County Legislator Lynne Dixon.

The terms run through the end of the year. The appointments follow the departures of Susan Ballard, Michael Buettner and David Schuster, leaving one open seat on the seven-member board.
