Sabres set schedule for start of training camp

The Buffalo Sabres have finalized plans for the opening weekend of training camp, with sessions open to the public at HarborCenter starting on Friday, Sept. 14.

Veteran players report for testing, physicals and media interviews on Thursday, Sept. 13. The public is invited the next day for the start of on-ice workouts, which will feature multiple sessions on both of HarborCenter's rinks. KeyBank Rink is the 2,000-seat main rink and New Wave Energy Rink is the smaller rink on Level 6 of the facility.

The schedule for the first weekend of camp is as follows:

Friday, Sept. 14

Session one:

  • 9:45 – 10:20 a.m. (New Wave Energy Rink)
  • 10:25 – 11:15 a.m. (KeyBank Rink)

Session two:

  • 11:45 a.m. – 12:20 p.m. (New Wave Energy Rink)
  • 12:25 – 1:15 p.m. (KeyBank Rink)

Saturday, Sept. 15

Session one:

  • 9:45 – 10:20 a.m. (New Wave Energy Rink)
  • 10:25 – 11:15 a.m. (KeyBank Rink)

Session two:

  • 11:45 a.m. – 12:20 p.m. (New Wave Energy Rink)
  • 12:25 – 1:15 p.m. (KeyBank Rink)

Sunday, Sept. 16

  • Practice: 9:45 – 10:15 a.m. (Both rinks)
  • Scrimmage: 10:30 – 11:15 a.m. (KeyBank Rink)

The preseason schedule opens Sept. 17 in Columbus, with the home exhibition opener set for Sept. 18 against Pittsburgh in KeyBank Center. The full training camp roster and schedule will be announced at a later date. All practice times are subject to change.
