Meatballs will rule West Mohawk Street on Sept. 9, as restaurants vie for the title of Buffalo’s best meatball.
Meatball Street Brawl III gives attendees a chance to taste traditional and creative meatball stylings from 19 restaurants, and vote for the people’s choice award. A panel of judges decides the top traditional and creative offerings.
“It’s part street party, part food competition and all about coming together, having fun and supporting some great causes,” said Osteria 166 owner Nick Pitillo, who started the event. “But don’t get me wrong – the restaurants definitely want to win and show up our friends a little bit.”
Tickets are $15 presale, at meatballstreetbrawl.com or participating restaurants, or $20 at door. The event is 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the Bills game will be on.
The event will benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation, Meals on Wheels Foundation of Western New York, the Michael Donald Perry Fund at the Response to Love Center, and a New York State Restaurant Association Educational Foundation scholarship fund.
Participants include Amici Ristorante, Bada Bing, Belsito, Bobby J’s, Cabaret, Canal Club 62, Chocolate Bar, D-Tour Martini Bar, Deep South Taco, Finnerty’s Tap Room, Frankie Primo's +39, Marco’s, Molinaro’s, Osteria 166, Patria in Seneca Allegany, Ristorante Lombardo, Siena, Tempo and This Little Pig.
