Free rabies vaccination clinics coming up

The Erie County Health Department is sponsoring three free rabies vaccination clinics for dogs, cats and ferrets next month.

The clinics will be conducted from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Noonan Center maintenance garage at Erie Community College North Campus, 6205 Main St., Amherst; Sept. 18 at the Springville Volunteer Fire Department, 405 W. Main St.; and Sept. 26 at the Erie County Emergency Services Training and Operations Center, 3359 Broadway, Cheektowaga.

Owners should bring a record of the pet’s most recent rabies vaccination, if available. Pets should be non-aggressive to other animals, under the owner’s control, and on a tight leash or in a secure carrier. Additional information  can be obtained by calling 961-6800. State law requires  owners to have all dogs, cats and ferrets vaccinated against rabies.

These are the last free clinics until January.
