A West Side Bazaar kiosk known for its lotus cookies and bubble tea is becoming a restaurant near Buffalo State College.
Gourmet Lao Foods is going to be opening on the first floor of the Campus Walk student apartment complex at 643 Grant St.
Owners Vone Serixay and One Thammasithikoun, sisters from Laos, will be operating their first standalone restaurant.
Its diverse menu, still under construction, will draw from Lao, Thai, Burmese, and Japanese cuisine, with sushi offerings.
The restaurant will be counter service, like the West Side Bazaar, with customers ordering from the counter and picking up their food.
It'll seat 40-50, with more patio seats for eating in pleasant weather.
The sisters plan to open on Sept. 10, if all goes well. They expect to be open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
