A Buffalo man described as a street-level crack cocaine dealer with a large customer base has been arrested and charged with selling the drug, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Nafese J. Sanford, 26, faces a maximum of 20 years in prison if he is convicted, prosecutors said.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Laura A. Higgins, who is handling the case, said the Lackawanna Police Narcotics Unit has been investigating Sanford's activities since June around Parkview Towers, a federally-funded senior housing facility on Ridge Road in Lackawanna.
Between July 13 and Aug. 22, Lackawanna Police and federal agents made three crack cocaine purchases from Sanford, Higgins said.
Sanford appeared Monday before U.S. Magistrate Judge H. Kenneth Schroeder and remains in custody, prosecutors said.
