Canisius men's soccer suffers first loss

Alex Willis scored two goals, including the game winner in the 82nd minute, to lead Northern Kentucky (2-0) to a 3-2 victory over Canisius in men's soccer on Monday in Highland Heights, Ky.
Hunter Walsh and Melvin Blair scored for the Golden Griffins (1-1) while senior goalkeeper Bryce Tramuta had a career-high sight saves.

Earlier on Monday, Tramuta and junior forward Kyle Brady (Grand Island) were recognized by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Tramuta, a native of Jeanette, Pa., was named MAAC Defensive Player of the Week while Brady, was  Offensive Player of the Week after they led the Griffs to a 3-0 win at Robert Morris on Saturday in their season opener.

Next for Canisius will be a game at Michigan State on Friday afternoon in East Lansing.
