Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston announced this week it has completed a two-year, $1.7 million renovation that made over every patient room and added 16 new private medical-surgical rooms on the third floor, bringing the available total to 65 private rooms.
The hospital is licensed for 175 beds, spokesman Frederick P. Caso Jr. said.
Catholic Health paid for building renovations, new flooring and mattresses. The Mount St. Mary's Foundation contributed $259,000 for new furniture. All rooms now have digital televisions and a new nurse call system.
"We have experienced a steady and consistent increase in the number of patients who are putting their trust in our care and we are able to now provide them with even more privacy," hospital president and CEO Gary Tucker said.
