CARVETH-FILL - Josephine Lynne Native of Lewiston, NY, the late Josephine Lynne Carveth-Fill will be laid to rest in a religious ceremony at Cold Spring Cemetery the morning of August 25, 2018. Her husband, Gerald A. Fill, and her local family members led by her eldest brother, Russell Carveth, will preside at the Service. In addition, her niece Carrie Jones and husband Dan Jones, and their children Ian and Eve, will also be present; Russell Carveth's wife Patricia will also be in attendance. Katie Carveth-Stanton, Rob Stanton, and their children Erin, Hunter, and Quinn are unable to attend the New York service. Father Walt Szczesny of All Saints Parish will offer prayers for Mrs Carveth-Fill and the family and lead the religious portion. Mrs. Josephine Lynne Carveth-Fill will be laid to rest near her father, Hector Carveth, Jr. and near Carveth, McCollum, Scovell families and other family members related to her who have been previously interred in Cold Spring Cemetery. Lynne's mother, Virginia Moseley Carveth-Delk, who predeceased her, was buried in Bowling Green, KY. After a 20-year fight with heart disease, Lynne (as she liked to be called) passed away approximately one year ago in Fairfax County, VA. This Funeral Service brings her cremated remains back to the neighborhood she loved and where she grew up and joins her father and other beloved family members in eternal rest and peace at a historic family cemetery plot. In January of this year, members of her family and friends celebrated her life in Fort Lauderdale, FL, where she spent many happy years with her family, and in particular her daughter Katherine, and son Stephen. In addition to raising two children, she served for 20 years as vice president and chief operating officer for an award-winning construction company in the Washington Metro area, and served on Capitol Hill for a senior member of Congress. However, by her own admission, the most rewarding part of her life was her loving service as wife, mother, grandmother and unifying force for the entire extended family. In addition to her husband of 45 years, "Jerry," Lynne is survived by two children, Katherine Lynne Buschang (husband Matthias) and Stephen Gerald Fill (wife Amber Melinda) and four grandchildren, Alyssa and Dylan Buschang, and Breanne and Stephen Fill. She is also survived by two siblings in addition to her oldest brother Russell: Michael Carveth, and George Anne Carveth- Brown/Finnell. Expressions of sympathy, or to contribute to a recently established Memorial Fund (Josephine Lynne Carveth-Fill Heart Research Memorial Fund), may be sent to her husband, Gerald A. Fill at 1404 Oakbrooke Ave., Alexandria, VA 22308 or to her son, Stephen G. Fill, 1740 SW 2nd Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312.
