Rochester woman robbed trying to buy cellphones in Buffalo

A Rochester woman told police she was robbed of more than $3,000 in cash Monday night after she came to Buffalo to buy cellphones, a transaction she set up on Facebook.

The victim met a woman at about 11 p.m. near Edison Avenue and Langfield Drive, according to a Buffalo police report. The woman told her the phones were at her home nearby on Collins Walk in the Langfield Homes.

About a minute after they drove the short distance and the woman exited the car, two men wearing dark clothing approached the driver's side of the vehicle and forced her to get out, according to the report.

The robbers took her cash, which was mostly $100 bills, her cellphone and driver's license and then ran away, the report said.
