Buffalo man sentenced for third child porn conviction

A Buffalo man with two prior convictions for possessing child pornography has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for his latest kiddie porn conviction, the U.S. Attorney's Office said Wednesday.

Donald Egan, 52, pleaded guilty May 14 after authorities found 32 images of child pornography on his cellphone. The images were discovered after a probation officer seized his cellphone during a home visit in July 2017 while Egan was on supervised release, authorities previously said.

U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara could have sentenced Egan to up to 20 years in prison. Ten years was the minimum sentence. Egan's prior convictions came in 2002 and 2006.
