A 12-year-old Buffalo entrepreneur is holding his second annual backpack giveaway on Saturday.
Shelden Gibbs, who designs and sells bow ties and is the CEO of the online bow tie business Classic Knot, organized the event at which 500 backpacks stuffed with school supplies will be given away from noon to 4 p.m. at 175 Woodlawn Ave. in Buffalo.
"I feel that education is important," Gibbs said in a telephone interview. "I just wanted to help the parents out."
The event is free and will include food, a bounce house, DJ, clown and a chance to dunk Gibbs in a dunk tank. Any children attending must be accompanied by an adult.
